Overview

Conceived as a modern courtyard residence within the thriving Eco Botanic township, the project explored the integration of indoor living spaces with semi-open landscaped environments to create a calm and breathable residential atmosphere. The overall design approach emphasized visual serenity, spatial layering, and minimalist detailing while responding to the evolving lifestyle needs of contemporary family living in Johor Bahru.

Inspired by resort-style residential architecture, the interior environment was designed around a central courtyard experience that encourages natural airflow, soft daylight diffusion, and seamless movement between communal and private zones. Through the use of muted tones, tactile material selections, and understated luxury finishes, the residence achieves a balanced living environment that feels both sophisticated and intimately connected to nature.

• Formulated a courtyard-focused interior concept featuring soft architectural geometries, textured wall applications, and minimalist spatial compositions that reinforce a calm and modern residential identity.
• Configured interconnected family lounges, dining areas, and transitional spaces to encourage openness, fluid circulation, and stronger interaction between interior and semi-outdoor environments.
• Introduced landscaped visual corridors, skylight integrations, and passive lighting strategies that improve natural illumination while enhancing spatial depth and environmental comfort throughout the residence.
• Executed custom-built carpentry systems, matte stone finishes, concealed storage integrations, and handcrafted interior detailing selected to complement the contemporary tropical character of the home.
